Our Goal

Now in our 16th year, Wine Women & Woods continues to prove that we can have FUN while raising money for a serious cause! This year’s event will once again be held at the world-renowned Predator Ridge Resort in the beautiful Okanagan! The event is now ONE DAY filled with fun! Bring your team of 4 ladies and add in a caddie (male or female) to help your team to victory … or just more fun!

Our focus is to support the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation to update equipment for women’s cancer detection and treatments. In 2017, we helped the Foundation purchase a Gamma Probe System which is used to detect mutated cells and tumors in the breast prior to surgery so the surgeon can remove all of the cancerous cells and tissue.

Our 2018 goal is to raise $60,000! We take great pride in this tournament and are thrilled to be able to make a difference.

We need YOUR SUPPORT:

Let’s ALL work together towards “A Future Without Cancer!”

Our History

Wine Women & Woods was created in 2003.

Cheryl Kaminsky, then a Vancouver realtor, had been involved in a golf tournament that was a fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation called “Chicks with Sticks”.  When Cheryl and her husband moved to Vernon in 2002, she immediately set upon organizing Vernon’s answer to this successful Vancouver fundraiser – a golf tournament with a distinct Okanagan flavour…”Wine Women & Woods – Tee Off for the Cure”.

In 14 years, Wine Women & Woods has raised over $1,000,000 towards “A Future Without Breast Cancer.”  Through co-operation with the BC/Yukon Region of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and local stakeholders, all funds raised by Wine Women & Woods have been used here in the Okanagan at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

We have expanded our focus to assist the Vernon Jubilee Hospital Foundation update equipment for all women’s cancers. We believe that together we can continue to make a difference towards a future without cancer.
